This conference focused on several New Testament portions that speak, either directly or in figure, of the treasures we have in Christ. Matthew 2:11 tells us that “gold, frankincense, and myrrh” were offered to Christ at His birth; “gold” signifies God Himself, “frankincense” signifies the resurrection of Christ, and “myrrh” signifies the death of Christ. This conference was focused on considering how the exercise of the sisters could bless and uplift the church life. Rather than giving messages, Brother Titus mainly provided some very practical fellowship to help all the saints (not only the sisters) in this regard.

He began by reviewing the current situation of the churches in the Great Lakes area. He then reminded us that the two brothers who raised up the local churches in the 20th century, Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, were themselves helped very much by sisters. (more…)

In January of 2009 a number of saints from around the Great Lakes area gathered in Ohio for a time of fellowship with brother Titus on the very basic matter of loving the Lord Jesus. This time was especially intended for the young people, and the fellowship was very practical; our brother shared that the burden for this time was simply focused on helping us learn how to contact the Lord and be in His presence, especially in our personal lives. While we may appreciate the wonderful experience of the church in Jerusalem as recorded in the first few chapters of Acts, it is the church in Antioch, and not the church in Jerusalem, that is the pattern of a healthy church life today. (more…)

These messages were given to a group of brothers at a retreat with brother Titus to help them realize what it means to serve the Lord by ministering His word.

In our speaking, we should not focus on being successful, i.e., giving a good message. Instead, to speak for the Lord in the church meetings we must first of all be very clear concerning our commitment from the Lord; He does not care for many things, but only for Christ and the church. We must also take care of such basic matters as being filled with the Spirit, being in the Lord’s word, and being with the saints. (more…)

We may know the term “the Body of Christ,” and even have the proper teaching concerning the Body, and yet be without the reality of the Body of Christ in our experience.

Therefore, in these messages brother Titus is burdened to point us to the reality, the expression, and the practicality of the Body of Christ in our church life. (more…)

Many Christians appreciate, in the book of Psalms, the psalmists’ seeking after God and trusting in Him, especially in their sufferings. They may also understand that the Psalms contain, in figures and prophecy, many high revelations of Christ. However, they may not be aware that the book of Psalms portrays, in the most practical and precious way, the steps by which we may enter into the real experience of Christ. (more…)

There is often pressure on the churches to care for something other than the Lord’s testimony, such as certain practices, and to make those things our center of fellowship.

Therefore, in this time brother Titus’ burden was to remind us that, as believers in Christ individually and as the churches of Christ corporately, we should only care for and exhibit Christ Himself. How wonderful is this divine commitment! (more…)

David was a great king as well as an outstanding servant of the Lord, who fought God’s battles and gained the material for the building of God’s dwelling place; God Himself says that he was “a man after My own heart” (Acts 13:22). Yet even so, he also had serious failures, for which he suffered very much, and often had difficulty discerning the Lord’s desire.

From such a one, who in many respects is like us today, we can learn many unique and very valuable lessons to help us in our own seeking after the Lord’s heart. (more…)

This series of messages was given in the fall of 2002 in Cleveland, Ohio, and deals with how the oneness of the Body of Christ. We need to realize that the source of our oneness is the Triune God Himself. Although God is three, these three are also one, and the oneness we enjoy as believers in Christ is really just the expression of the marvelous oneness of the Triune God.
