The New Testament contains almost no teaching concerning how to be in the one accord. Rather, by example, it shows us that the genuine one accord is produced out of the organic oneness of the believers.

From the Preface:
In the beginning oneness had everything to do with God and His economy. Oneness existed in the Triune God and now has been enlarged through Christ into His mystical Body. The Lord prayed for the organic oneness in John 17. We see the fulfillment of this prayer in the early church life, manifested in the saints living in one accord in their prayer, continuing in the apostles. teaching and fellowship, and breaking bread from house to house with exultation and simplicity of heart.

It is a very good word. We should be clear that scriptural oneness is not institutional. It is not oneness with someone’s personal ministry. It is the oneness with the Triune God in the divine life. The Body is an organism, therefore its oneness is possible only in life. May the Lord be merciful to us all so that we would keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace.
