Conference on the Psalms, Book One: A Portrayal of the Growth in Life (Psalms 1 through 24)

Wednesday, December 21st, 2005

Many Christians appreciate, in the book of Psalms, the psalmists’ seeking after God and trusting in Him, especially in their sufferings. They may also understand that the Psalms contain, in figures and prophecy, many high revelations of Christ. However, they may not be aware that the book of Psalms portrays, in the most practical and precious way, the steps by which we may enter into the real experience of Christ. (more…)

Conference: Our Divine Commitment According to God’s Eternal Purpose

Monday, September 5th, 2005

There is often pressure on the churches to care for something other than the Lord’s testimony, such as certain practices, and to make those things our center of fellowship.

Therefore, in this time brother Titus’ burden was to remind us that, as believers in Christ individually and as the churches of Christ corporately, we should only care for and exhibit Christ Himself. How wonderful is this divine commitment! (more…)

Conference: David—A Man After God’s Heart

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

David was a great king as well as an outstanding servant of the Lord, who fought God’s battles and gained the material for the building of God’s dwelling place; God Himself says that he was “a man after My own heart” (Acts 13:22). Yet even so, he also had serious failures, for which he suffered very much, and often had difficulty discerning the Lord’s desire.

From such a one, who in many respects is like us today, we can learn many unique and very valuable lessons to help us in our own seeking after the Lord’s heart. (more…)

What a Prophet Must See

Thursday, April 28th, 2005

Read this article in PDF formatTo speak on behalf of the Lord is a great matter. God always works by speaking, and thus to carry out what He desires to do He must have those who can work with Him in this way. However, if we desire to be prophets who can speak for the Lord we must first see a number of visions concerning God and His economy.

Prophets are the spiritual strength of a local church. The vision of the prophets will determine how their local church will go on. Don’t think that this is a light thing, for it is very easy to deviate from what has been committed to us by the Lord. Therefore, if you wish to exercise as a prophet in your local church, the first thing I would say to you is that you must be a spiritual person who is under a controlling vision. For this, you must be a spiritual man, for your vision cannot be kept by any other means. You cannot by your natural strength guard such a vision. If your vision is not clear, sooner or later the church or churches you serve will become something “other.” Your vision is the controlling element for your life-long operation.

Series: The Living and Exercise of the God-Men

Saturday, March 26th, 2005

Read this article in PDF formatThe eternal economy of God is the controlling vision of the Bible. Everything is based upon God’s dispensing of life to His chosen and redeemed people. To carry out His economy He needs God-men who in their living are increasingly being constituted with the divine attributes. These God-men are also exercised as stewards able to minister the healthy words of God’s economy. (more…)
